Dynavector XV-1S

This cartridge had an opened coil due to the dynavector XV-1S un-gluing of one of its PCB allowing the junction between the coils wire and the output pins wire. The general appearance of the cartridge is a conservative EX ++, functionality is 100% (as new).

In order to make this cartridge fully operational we had to :

• glue back properly both PCB
• general cleaning of the cartridge
• rebuild coils back to original status (6 ohms)
• build a new damper
• replace to identical the cantilever + diamond tip by a brand new boron cantilever with Pathfinder line radius 7×30 microns tip 

The cartridge comes complete with  :

• original boxing + plastic cover
• cantilever protector
• manual + measures
• set of head shell leads + two allen screws

After repair we measured the following specifications :

• Output level : 0,3 mV
• Nominal Vertical Tracking Force : 2.2g
• Tracking : > 80 micron / 22mN / 315Hz lateral
• Compliance : 10 x 10 – 6 cm/dyn
• Mass : 12.6g

The Dynavector XV-1S is based on AlNiCo magnets. It is certainly one of the best cartridges we know with a particular structure allowing the music to be extremely coherent by an energy display that is homogenous all over the frequency range. This is certainly one of the very best phono cartridge on earth.
