The Schröder BA tonearm (BA stands for “broadcast arm”) is designed as a modern version of the old, heavy tonearms that were used on big transcription turntables from the 1950s and 1960s, turntables made by Garrard, Thorens, Grey Research, Gates, Rek-O-Kut, Commonwealth, and so on. It’s made of heat-treated rock maple, with a carbon-fibre/aluminium tube for the 6N pure copper wiring, which terminates in a pair of RCAs fixed to the tonearm base. Bearing is a unipivot spike.
Effective length is 282 mm, with a spindle-to-pivot distance of 267.5. Ideal for medium to low compliance cartridges. Tonearm mount pattern is identical to that of the Schröder CB tonearm.
