First model from the Japanese brand Glanz, both the MH-9B and MH-10B tonearm are high effective mass tonearms which we recommend to pair with the following cartridges brand : Audio Technica, Koetsu, Miyajima Labs, Mutech, My Sonic Lab, Phasemation, Sculpture A and of course the legendary Ortofon SPU and Denon DL-103.
With heavy headshells and cartridges (like SPU, Sculpture A, Koetsu) we strongly advise the use of the additional weight for the counterweight (reference : MH-BSW).
No headshell is supplied with the tonearm, but it includes a tonearm cable.
Listening to the MH-9B and 10B was quite a shock to us. These tonearms are literally transparent with a neutral balance. There is no sign of coloration to the sound. Dynamic is massive and well controlled. These tonearms are surprising with low compliance cartridges and will allow you to get the full experience of these. Easy to set-up and straightforward to adjust : these are without a doubt an immediate classic.
Features:
- The arm pipe and vertical shaft parts (which greatly influence sound quality) are made from stainless steel.
- Along the main conduction tube we have reproduced a material close to stainless steel supplement, using brass with a tough chrome plating
- The fulcrum is strongly supported with radial bearings
- The inside force canceler, Arm Resting Device and Arm Lifting Device are insulated with ABS resin, and reduces reverberation distortion
