Thursday 19th of September : Ana Mighty Vinyl Event, Le-son n°1 Step-up with Michael Ulbrich and powered by darTZeel instruments

Dear Friends, We hope that you are still enjoying a wonderful summer, but as you know summer has an end and we do believe that the perfect antidote to the end of summer is… an Ana Mighty Vinyl Event. For this first dinner of the year, which will be held on the 19th of September from 7:00 PM, we are going to focus on step-up transformers and for this special event we invited one of the most innovative Step-Up transformer builder of our time : Michael Ulbrich of Consolidated Audio. Michael Ulbrich and our team will explain to you :
  • how is designed a step-up transformer
  • how you can easily determine it’s adaptation with your cartridge
  • play you various step-up transformers both modern and vintage as well as head amps and listen together how they affect the sound reproduction
  • focus on how we build a particular step-up transformer for our range of Sculpture A model A .4 cartridges
We are going to particularly focus on the following step-up transformers : 
  • Consolidated Audio (various models) (toroïdal, nano-crystalline, resistor loading possible)
  • Thrax Trajan (toroïdal, nano-crystalline, rotary switch for resistor loading)
  • My Sonic Lab Stage 1030
  • Phasemation T-300 (EI core, permalloy)
Phonostages used will be : 
  • Thrax Orpheus
  • Phasemation EA-500 and EA-200
  • Sanyo C-55 serie plus
Our demonstrations will be made with darTZeel instruments (the wonderful NHB-18NS preamp and NHB-108 power amp and CTH-8550 integrated amp) and in the presence of Hervé Deletraz !  These will be powering our Thrax Basus + Lyra speakers. Just the right combination to hear every single details in the groove from records.   As usual, our home chef, Frédéric,  will cook us a meal and choose the matching white and red wines with it. The menu of the evening will be as follow : 
  • Long drink and Amuses bouches (fun in the mouth ?)
  • Cream of Zuchini from the garden with sheep cheese
  • Guinea fowl with cream, mashed potatoes and fried apple
  • (French) cheese
  • Flaky pastry Mirabelle prune and pistachio dessert
  • Coffee, tea

Practical informations : 

Ana Mighty Vinyl Events are held every third Thursday of each month in our Parisian showroom rue de l’Ermitage Paris 75020. These events are limited to 12 persons.

The fare for the evening is of 57.50€ by Paypal to semi-fredo@wanadoo.fr or 55€ by bank transfer, check.
